Who are these kids?? (also, i found this through a random google search for Ghost Robot pictures. I did not make it.)

oops! “What Goes Down, Must Come Up,” is the real issue here with re-using these kid designs due to the nature of it being in the past. -but being that budget is low on character designs, it is an understandable mistake.

I don’t view this as a “mistake”, nor do I believe that the image is trying to convey that. Historically, cartoons have had awful budgets, and reusing backgrounds and background characters is just a part of the reality of animation production. However, what I find interesting is the narrative of these two children that the image is trying to construct.

Who are these two youngsters? They seem to be best friends and are constantly connected to the world of the Ventures. What is their story? How do they keep showing up to these events? How have they stayed children for the last few decades?

The commentary for Now Museum— Now You Don’t! specifically says that several background characters were mistakes— for example, Jonas, Sr. appears, despite being dead for twenty five years— and were there because they needed more characters than they had designed. (This leads to a joke that when new artists apply to the show, Doc and Jackson test them by having them design background characters, to build up the library.)
